Bullock Texas State History Museum features three exhibition floors. It has a 4D special effects theater, IMAX ® with Laser theater, a museum store, and a cafe. The facility collaborates with over 700 museums, archives, libraries, and people to display original historical artifacts and offer dynamic exhibitions which celebrate and illuminate the culture and history of Texas. 

The Bullock Texas State History Museum is named after the state’s 38th Lieutenant Governor, Bob Bullock. The iconic facility is situated downtown of the city, three blocks north of the Capitol. 

The museum also features the most significant artifacts of Texas, spanning 4000 years of history. Visiting the museum is worth your time since you can enjoy many activities. They have an approachable staff who can assist you with your museum tour.

The museum is closed on Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, Easter, and New Year’s Day. The IMAX ® theatre is also closed on selected holidays.

The richness of culture, artifacts as well as innovations of Texas are revealed through films, exhibitions, community events, symposiums, fun, family-centered programs, and field trips. 

The museum stewards the exhibition of artifacts of Texas from around the world, establishing relationships with archives, museums, and private lenders to explore dynamic stories. 

They also gather and archive first-person stories through their Texas Story Project. Thus, the experiences and memories of Texas citizens, objects, and places can help to a better understanding of the generations that came before them.

The museum has no refund policy for IMAX theatre, all Exhibits, and Spirit Theater tickets. The tickets can be rescheduled based on availability up to 1 day before the event date.
